what does cervical mucus look like after conception

This is so strange. I think I was supposed to either ovulate yesterday or today based on a positive OPK on Thursday (1/16). I decided to do an OPK today and it was negative. What is sort of weird is I'm having very thick, slightly yellow, and gobble, but very stretchy CM. What does that mean? It's not clear like they say EWCM should not be nor is thin. Some of it is in gobs that stretch but return back to their form... Gross TMI, I know but was hoping someone knew what it was/or had had the same thing before around ovulation or right after?  No other symptoms or problems. Thank for the response in advance.

Actually, this could be some of the most fertile CM you could have. I read in Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Wechsler that fertile egg white CM could be streaked with yellow. Fertile egg whites are also stretchy and gobble.  I'm getting this same CM you guys are talking about, but I'm not sure I'm going this month.  I should have OD Wednesday or Thursday, but I never got a positive OPK, and my temps are still down.  But I've been having lot of this yellow snot like CM for the past 3 days, and I'm wondering what's going on!?  Are any of you guys temping or using the OPKS?

I have had the same question for weeks as my CM is consistently yellow or yellowish and rarely white or clear! I'm pretty sure that the fertile CM I had been also yellowish and not clear. I think you may not be alone, unless some of the other experts on here can suggest to us what the CM might be. TMI alert: when I wiped, it looked like the snot on a Kleenex when you blow your nose and have a cold! Sometimes it's mixed with clear, but always stretchy until after I O. Glad to have confirmation that I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.

Wow!  Thank goodness I am not the only one with Yellow CM that looks like snot! I have been reading Taking Charge of your fertility but I just don’t think she talks enough about it being yellow and that it can be thick like snot! That's exactly what I am seeing. I totally agree with Lynn's description of it, it actually sounded like she was describing mine. I thought it was weird that it was in globs and then would stretch between my fingers. I had several days of white/clear but the yellow is still around. I am temping but not using OPK's and my temp still hasn't spiked. I thought for sure it was last week but still no temperature spike so maybe because it is yellow now I will spike. Let's see.
